| In line with commitments to reaching the UN Millennium Development Goals, the reform of the education sector has become a top priority for the Syrian authorities, being the sector of education one of the main components of the 10th Five Year Development Plan (2006-2010). In this context, the EC National Indicative Programme (NIP) 2008-2010 foresees a specific support to the reform of secondary education. The global objective of the mission was to formulate a comprehensive project proposal aiming at supporting the secondary education system in Syria based on the findings of the identification mission. The assignment consisted of the Formulation of the “Secondary Education Reform Programme”, which will include the definition in detail of the components of the project based on the assessment performed during the identification phase. The outcome of the assignment will be a Financing Proposal draft for the project. |
